Welcome everyone as we embark on another month of exploration through the world of whisky. April brings forth a trio of tantalizing samples that promise to delight the senses and expand our palates. Each whisky selected for this month's tasting embodies the essence of craftsmanship, tradition and innovation.
Firstly, results from last months samples are in:

Tri Carragh – Glen Elgin 12
Starting off this month with a gem from independent bottler Tri Carragh. Their name, derived from Gaelic meaning 'three pillars', pays homage to the foundational elements of whisky-making: water, barley, and yeast. This particular bottle comes from a 12 year old Glen Elgin finished in an ex Tawny Port Cask. Dive straight into the glass, and you're greeted with a delightful medley of aromas - dark chocolate, candy floss, blossom and poached fruits (apple/pear), evoking a refreshing, spring time vibe. On the palate, the influence of port casks shines through, delivering zesty notes of apricot and plum, culminating in a spiced finish with delicate hints of lavender. This bottling truly encapsulates Tri Carragh's craftsmanship and innovation. Priced around £70 at select retailers, it's a worthy addition to any whisky enthusiast's collection. Keep an eye out for future releases; this is just the beginning of an exciting journey. Interested in a bottle of this contact me and I will try and arrange a price. Rating: 91/100

Wormtub 10 Cask Strength
Pause for a moment and admire the rich, mahogany hue of this whisky. Hailing from a Speyside distillery renowned for its use of wormtub condensers, and through some research and deduction its very likely this is also a Craigellachie liquid, as they are the only remaining Speyside distillery that still use the traditional wormtub. Skipping the preamble, let's dive straight into the sensory experience. The nose reveals enticing hints of sugary molasses, dates, and salted caramel, setting the stage for a sweet, indulgent palate reminiscent of coffee beans and chewy butterscotch, the continued molasses and brown sugar, amplified by the high ABV. The finish? Long, sweet, and sticky - a true dessert in a glass. Rating: 86/100

Craigellachie 13
Wrapping up our journey is the esteemed Craigellachie 13, a staple of the distillery's core range since 2014, awarded 5 whisky awards since its release. Admire its golden hue, leading into the scent of buttered popcorn and orchard fruits, invoking a sense of summer evenings. The palate offers a delicate nuttiness, complemented by crisp golden delicious apples and a hint of sweet malt, with a subtle undertone of Ovaltine. An ideal evening sipper, offering comfort and satisfaction with every drop. Rating: 88/100
